‘Memory Loss Is My Coping Mechanism’
2022
Remembering is said to be vital to our well-being. Forgetting is vital too. This audiovisual narrative is unravelled inside a constantly changing landscape of memories and thoughts. Through an intimate psychogeography, the artist explores the interconnection of themes like memory, time and the mind. Using the metaphor of love and having in mind Karen Barad’s text ‘TransMaterialities: Trans*/Matter/Realities and Queer Political Imaginings’, Konstantinaki looks into these themes through the lens of possibilities and quantum physics. Trapped between past and future, she strives to escape from haunting recollections and failing future scenarios, while the present remains constantly elusive.
