Kakia is a visual artist based in Athens. She studied architecture in Technical University of Crete and holds an MA in Communication Design from Central Saint Martins. Using 3D rendering software, Konstantinaki constructs complex augmented reality environments that blur physical world environments with computer-generated imagery. Her ongoing research examines inserting impossible forms in various landscapes, testing the horizon between the physical and the digital. Employing non-linear narratives in her short films, she examines ideas of technology, simulation, interrelations, ecology, memory, time, consciousness, in relation to the human condition, as a means to understand the relationship between both humans with themselves and with the other. She has taken part in group shows, short film festivals, online exhibitions and public projections in various cities around the world. Currently, she is a fellow at the Onassis Air artistic residency in Athens.
