Through an intimate psychogeography, the artist explores the interconnection of themes like memory, time and the mind. Using the metaphor of love and having in mind Karen Barad’s text ‘TransMaterialities: Trans*/Matter/Realities and Queer Political Imaginings’, Konstantinaki looks into these themes through the lens of possibilities and quantum physics. Trapped between past and future, she strives to escape from haunting recollections and failing future scenarios, while the present remains constantly elusive. I was asked to create two types of visuals. One short video that would be projected onto a 20x3 meters long wall. And another 6 looping square animations that would be playing simultanuesly on each side of a levitated LED cube. All the visuals are thought through the lens of the blue hour effect that was the main concept of the event, set by the H&amp;M team. Screenshots, photographs, and videos transformed through image-to-video AI into moving image. The structure recalls the Surrealist practice of the exquisite corpse: each image triggering the next in a chain of associative transformations, no single frame fully aware of what came before or after. Central to the work is humour: not scripted, but hidden within the random generative behaviour of AI models, surfacing in unexpected conjunctions and weird transitions, and the system’s particular gift for the unintended. The approach was ad hoc. No storyboard, no curatorial logic applied to the source material, only a personal archive handed over to a system indifferent to a specific narrative. Daydreaming is a concept borrowed from the psychology theory,&nbsp;Prosseswork, where it is widely used to set the person into a state of dreaming while they are awake, in order to understand hidden aspects of themselves. During the course of daydreaming, the person starts off with a name, or a face, or a feeling and from there they depart to a journey of unraveling their non-linear and seemingly irrational thoughts. This process is said to offer to the person an intuitive insight into their selves, that otherwise they would be unable to gain by operating on their usual conscious level. Daydreaming allows for a different level of consciousness and awareness of ourselves. The Daydreaming project is based on the above principles and it is materialised within the 3D environment,&nbsp; blending 3D oddities with digital photography. Most commonly, starting off from a photograph, I set myself in a non-conscious thinking mode and I start making, employing almost solely my intuition. A process quite similar to the automatic writing and ‘the stream of consciousness’, but this time within the&nbsp;digital media contex.&nbsp; Daydreaming is an ongoing long-term project, which works notion of the singularity’s ambiguity to create intriguing abstract visuals which have the power to entice potential audiences. A key element is used to introduce the spectator to the idea of singularity and to set the overarching mood for the Athens Digital Arts Festival 2018.&nbsp;Singularity can be, interpreted in a multitude of ways. The term is used in physics, mathematics and futurology to describe a range of scenarios from “the merger of human and machine”, “artificial intelligence becoming so real, that we will not be able to distinguish it from humans”, “the end of the world” to “eternal life”. And this is just scratching the surface.To bring this idea to the widest possible audience, we introduced “the object” as a key element in the visual identity. It ties the concept together and provides continuity. “The object” is an abstract shape that is just hovering, looming, approaching, ever present – like the idea of singularity. 3D Artists &amp; Motion Designers: Kakia Konstantinaki, Tina Touli Graphic Design: Jakob Ritt, Tina Touli, Yunxin Stella Wang Sound Design: Nalysa Green It captures and represents essential qualities of the singularity; It is abstract and hard to define, be it through words or through images. It is an idea that is present, but can not be pin-pointed exactly. We seem to be sure that it is coming, but we are unsure what it holds for us. The reflective surface of “the object” shows a mirror image of the Athenian cityscape it is placed in, which is distorted according to its shape. This object is placed in a setting that is familiar to the audience. This way, a juxtaposition of something that is completely grounded in reality and something that is categorically philosophical is created.By placing “the object” in a familiar surrounding we are beginning to shape a relationship between the spectator and the idea of singularity. This relationship will be varying from person to person.
